Prelude op.28 no.4 nuff said.

If you're serious, then I totally agree that this is a difficult piece.  None of Chopin's music is easy to play.  Look no further than YouTube to hear a dozen terrible performances of this "easy" prelude.

Imo the Chopin Allegro de Concert op. 46 is his most difficult work for solo piano.  It's stupidly difficult though.  It's not really worth playing, in my opinion.

You wanna talk hard preludes?

No. 16, B-flat minor.  Nothing more difficult.  Period.

Grande Polonaise brillante op. 22, 16th Prelude's way easier in my opinion.

I'd also say the Allegro de Concert Op.46.  I rather like the piece.

Up there would also be the Variations on La ci darem la mano Op.2 - this one is uber.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Of course I was kidding, tough I agree it is not as easy to control the sound of this prelude as it looks. The allegro de concert is one of the hardest, but I don't think it is the hardest, tough I LOVE that piece, and think it is worth playing. In Ashkenazy's hands it's wonderful.
