CNSMDP (Paris Conservatoire)

Hi all,

I was just wondering if any of you had had any experience, either first hand or anecdotal, with the Paris Conservatoire. I will be applying there this coming year, but I have also heard some rather discouraging things about its environment, which some people have said is bureaucratic and political. I know of Jacques Rouvier (even though his class is apparently full, I'm hoping a good samaritan will decide to drop out or something), and Alain Planes, whose Debussy recordings are quite frankly breathtaking. Any thoughts or words of advice?
Many thanks!
