Grade 6 ideas
on: December 16, 2008, 08:15:38 PM
Hi guys

Im working on a program for a girl whos playing her end of year recital at college. Shes around grade 6. Ive given her a couple of ideas but she needs 1 piece lasting between 2-4 mins at most. It has to be of the romantic era.

Thanks

Choz

Grade 6 piano?  Umm what else is she playing?

I only know the RCM system; it's tough to get a piece that long for grade 6, maybe a group of short pieces?

Tchaikovsky has an "Album for the Young op 39" that has some nice pieces around grade 5-6

Grieg also has a ton of Lyric Pieces; definitely worth looking into.  Some rather obscure pieces in there, but they're all amazing.
Interested in discussing:

-Prokofiev Toccata
-Scriabin Sonata 2
