Chopin Ballade observation
on: December 21, 2008, 08:23:47 PM

Note:  This is not spam, or insults, or cursing, this is something about the 1st Ballade I just realized.

I have the Paderewski edition of the Chopin Ballades, and from measures 146- 148, all the first 3 beats of the measures.  You notice in the left hand, there is the quarter note chord, eighth rest, an eighth octave then the quarter octave.  But there is a slur that connects the first beat note to the eighth octave.  So, I think that the quarter should be dotted, hence the slur, and that, to me, would make more sense.

it probably would make more sense but i dont think its a big enough issue to really bring up. I use the dover edition btw and they have a phrase too.
