Forum Profile Pictures?
on: December 23, 2008, 10:13:37 AM
In the Forum Profile, you can add a picture. But WHAT are the requirements? No matter what image I attach (very small right up to very large, all file types such as .gif and .jpeg, etc.) it says: "Avatar is too large or not an avatar."

Explain please.

There was a discussion on this a while ago - avatars are disabled because they aren't really necessary and take up too much room.

I didn't notice that...

The discussion I was talking about regarded display picures, not profile pictures.

What are the specs of some of the pics you've tried to upload?

I've tried all the possibilities I know.

When I can be bothered. I would rather hear what Nils has to say, as he could list any problems, etc. that may be happening.

The pic has to be very, very small.

Took me ages to find the optimum size.

Good luck

I tried very, very small! I tried all file formats (.gif, .jpeg, etc) I tried low and high quality pictures and everything.

Evidently you haven't tried everything if the pic won't upload...

Try hosting it on another server instead of trying to directly upload it ...

That was shortyshort's suggestion too...put it photobucket first he said. I might try that.

Went into shortys profile.  Right click on the image.  It looks to be 80 px by 80 px JPEG.  Why not start at those dimensions?
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
