Scriabin Etude Op. 65 No. 2

Possibly my favorite piece by Scriabin. Recorded this today. I put the microphone very close, but it works very well for this music.

Yes this is a real sweet spot in Scriabin's late output. You're very tender with it, and your expression comes through in the recording...very sensitive playing. I'm glad you love this piece and recorded it for us. Do you play the others? This piece, gorgeous as it is, can only gains from the contrast. It's a great set if you've got that genetic advantage (9ths of Op. 65 no. 1).
Don't let anyone know where you tie your goat.

I played Op. 65/3, but I don't have a recording. I will record it again soon................

Hi mikhail,

Your rendition of this Scriabin late etude is fine indeed.  I totally enjoyed listening.  Thanks for posting it!

Thanks for listening: I will definitely learn more Scriabin in the future, but now I have my work laid out for me: Mr. Rose gave me these pieces to learn for an all-Liszt recital sometime next year (April or May 2009)

Valse-Impromtu
Transcendental Etude No. 8 "Wilde Jagd"
Hungarian Rhapsody No. 9 "Pesther Carnaval"
B-minor Sonata

I will also play the Mephisto Waltz No. 1 again. This is an insane amount of work.........I hope to learn (just the notes) the Rhapsody by January 12th (that's when my vacation ends, and I have to go back to college.......)

Bach: WTC Book II P&F in D minor
Beethoven: Sonata Op. 31/3
Chopin: Ballade No. 1
Liszt: Transcendental Etude No. 8 "Wilde Jagd"
