@#!#%! Hangnails
on: December 31, 2008, 05:28:22 PM
So, what do you pianists out there DO for these curses?  Aside from soaking the finger to soften the cuticle, then trimming the worst of the hangnail, then rubbing some hand lotion into the flippin' thing, what do you do besides that?  I'm trying that New Skin stuff ("liquid bandage').  I'm sick of the pain.  :P

I got this nasty one (RH 5th finger) from reworking Chopin's 3rd Ballade.   >:(

Nope...the Irish are worst. Especially on St. Paddy's

I cut them off flush to the skin with some very sharp flush-cutting wire cutters which I happen to have because I'm an electronics repairman on the side. Works a treat, but the wire cutters are expensive!

By Jove, that's a great idea!  Hangnails curse me, too, especially in the winter.  Thanks, richard black.  Are you a manicurist on the side, too?  ;D
