Yeah, I really like the banner idea. Perhaps Nils could use similar banner things for other major events...maybe. Mind you, other major events are religious or pagan.  :-\

What about international days? Independence day, Australia day...all that stuff. Maybe birthdays?

I think the words "Happy New Year" could have been a bit bigger.

Maybe birthdays?

Too personal and it would be too much work. It would probably be a member's birthday every day of the year...in fact, several members would share the same birthday. It's just not possibile, I think.

Fine...well there would only be about 48 days that would be special days like Independance day, how about that?

Well you'd need to be careful as some days are not celebrated by others, e.g. Christmas, Easter, etc.

Independence Day isn't celebrated in Britain. Whereas New Year is celebrated everywhere (with the exception of China, etc. that celebrate it at another time).

I think birthdays should be announced at the bottom of the main page of the forum, sort of like how Gamingforce does it. Everyone sees it, but it isn't the top banner and it isn't a distraction. If it works there, it could work here. And also, there are surely more members there than here.

Birthdays could work for major piano composers.  Like Mozart coming up on Jan 27.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
