Dedicated to my teacher and the visiting professor. A Christmas gift, sort of. I remember mr music was interested in the text, so here it is:

Dance of Destruction by diablong-buang (written 2005)

Standing in the lines
between summer and spring
Your heart doesn't miss a beat
in this dance of destruction

The moon is high
the owls are watching
and they sing my soul to sleep
with the words of my defeat

Drown in my misery
drown in my own tears
Would you still remember me
in this world of distraction?

The moon is high, and for the very first time
We recognized the symbols and we read all the signs.

Watch out; falling debris
that's what it said to him
Fall out; watching debris
that's what it said to her

As I closed my eyes I heard him sigh,
Didn't think she'd die
And now it's too late to wait for something new
or something better

I'm just a pathetic loser from day one to day seven
Trying to get even with the world or at least get even with him
I still haven't changed and he's too beautiful
for roses and chocolates or hugs and kisses from me.
I'm sinking like a stone in the sea,
I'm burning like a bridge for your body

Reminds me vividly of Chopin's "Marche Funebre" for some reason. Sounds like 3 movements also-is it meant to sound like that? Sounds pretty good though, the key and the rhythm help set the backdrop as well.

No, just one piece. I guess the 3 parts stand out... I don't know if that's good or bad. Thanks.

btw I'm not familiar with Marche Funebre so it was unintentional.

I quite like it db. I like how it sounds easy on the ears. The transitions are quite good.

Standard progressions sound easy to the ears. That wasn't my intent, though.  :-[

Flamenco music

Zapateado in Bm? Dance of Diablos?

I don't know if that's in 3/4 time though.

I also though it was a bit misnamed. I really didn't get a dance feel, and try to record at a real, or atleast digital, piano.. Since midi doesn't sound as a real piano. But I think you're doing quite well. Try to get some theory and composition lessons, and you'll obviously have the ideas, but not really knows how to handle them. Don't get me wrong on that point. Not many are able to make their composition-ideas great without lessons, without copying someone else :)

Wow that was unexpected.

I did start out with a faster waltz-time, but it was suggested that I decrease the tempo. I mean waaaaaaay back. Maybe just call it a piece? I don't know.

Yes I'm taking currently theory lessons, and sometimes I check out ideas as I go. Composing a tune is more interesting than studying the lecture (but is a lot of work). Composition isn't until next semester, though.

Then it might be a midi. Noone dance, or play a waltz, exactly rythmical or without any more marked beats. Like a waltz is ONE two three ONE two three. On this midi it was like ONE ONE ONE ONE ONE ONE. But that's your your fault. Noone can compose a dance on a midi sound.
It's great you're taking lessons, then it can only be for the better.
I also think it's way more interesting to compose than the lecture, but that's also important. Like playing excercises or scales (or even Hanon for some ppl), it might be very boring, but it will help you a lot.
Good luck with the rest of all your compositions :)
