I downloaded this sheet music from pianosociety.com; it was supposed to be valse melancolique of Liszt which is not!!  ::) Does anyone know the name and composer of this piece? (I've attatched only the first page) Was it even composed by Liszt?! Tnx.

Absolutely no idea. If you play it slowly to start with and then gradually speed it up it sounds a bit like the theme to 'Jaws'.

Beethoven Emperor
Bach Goldbergs

OK mystery solved!  ;) There are two versions of this valse: this is the first version, which was composed in 1839. The second version (the more famous one) is actually Caprice Valse No. 2. (see https://imslp.org/wiki/List_of_compositions_by_Franz_Liszt_(S.1_-_S.350)#Works_in_Dance_Form S.210 & S.214).

In case anyone's looking for the second version's sheet music, it can be downloaded from https://imslp.org/wiki/Valses-Caprices%2C_S.214_(Liszt%2C_Franz). The first version is available in pianosociety.com.
