Thanks Thal--one of these days I'll convince you that Schumann is a worthwhile composer (I hope), heh.

honestly, this "Kreiss" is in my top 5 fave recz now. The Liszt is gorgeous as well, you have an incredible technique, and your playing is very polished. I still can't believe that you can play like that LIVE.

Please post more

:)

But this is from 2001, I am sure you play even better now..........

I bow before Koji the great.
How about something from my wardrobe in exchange for even a tenth of your power?  My Kiton tie collection isn't too shabby...  heh.

I have problem with Schumann too, but not with Op. 16.

Just wonderful playing, Koji.  I have listened to Schumann's Kreisleriana once, and my impression of it wasn't favorable, but hearing you makes me want to keep listening.
He was not of an age, but for all time.

Wow what an astonishing recording !! Quite a while ago I read that this piece is one of the most important work of the romantic era. At that time I disliked it and even asked myself : " How can this boring piece be so popular" ?

But nowadays the kreisleriana is electryfing for me. I cannot get my ears off it!
Thanks for this video.

You played at Julliard? wow
