Lang Lang - Liszt Paraphrase "Don Juan"
on: February 03, 2009, 12:11:19 PM
lol hai guyz!

I upload a lot of (primarily modern) classical music to youtube ( www.youtube.com/user/john11inch ) and would like to upload the video (either of them) of Lang Lang performing the Don Juan Paraphrase for comedic purposes (I can not divulge how I will create the lulz with the video, as that would ruin the surprise), given the um... dynamic range of facial expressions he exhibits.

I'm aware that for a long time this was a file that was on every pianist's computer, but it seems like all my friends eventually needed the space and deleted it.  But I am an optimist, so I can only assume a few of you still have the video file on your computer somewhere.  So if anyone could supply me with it, I'd be eternally grateful, and I'd be willing to trade some recordings or sheets and such for it.

Or if someone can tell me how to download a movie file off youtube, this would be equally effective of course =P  But I need the video with audio, not the audio itself.

Thanks in advance-
Pokey

A programmer friend supplied me with YouTube Batch Downloader. You could either find that, or wait until I'm in the mood. LOLvids of Lang Lang abound, why add another? And I don't see how I can send videos.  ::)

Retrouvailles' site would be fine, as well as yousendit.com, megaupload.com, turboupload... there are quite a lot of places you could upload it, really =)  I could set you up a password on my server, as well.

Actually, uhm... I downloaded the Lang Lang videos and now

(I know I'm going to be stoned for this.)

I'm a fan.

So I'm keeping Langx2 for myself, thanks for introducing him to me.  :-*  :-*

That is fine, I have already secured the video several days ago and uploaded part 1 of 2.  Here, take a look:

I hope that LL doesn't snatch the world première of Boulez's Quatrième Sonate away from its rightful performer; after all, stranger things have happened (e.g. Yo Yo Ma premièring Elliott Carter's Cello Concerto, perhaps?)...

If you do indeed commission it / have commissioned it, I'll have nothing to get over other than getting myself over to listen to the première and there will no longer be any joke to ruin, so that'll be "all right with me", as Cole Porter would have put it; if, on the other hand, LL does snatch the première, I'll probably never get over it....

Alistair

That would be a violation against humanity that the world may never recover from.

I fear that it might well indeed be just that, provided, of course, that "the world" (or at least a sufficiently substantial sector thereof) even realised that it had been perpetrated in the first place - and no, I do realise that you were not inferring any kind of "viola"(tion) joke in so saying...

Yo Yo Lang Lang; Ma Ma Matribute(?!)...

But - as I have written before in other threads - back to the topic; - er, actually, wait abit, do we really NEED to get back to this particular topic, I try not to ask myself...

Best,

Alistair
