The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

Mail Merge Help
on: February 11, 2009, 08:51:12 PM
Oh Dear,

I am not very expert on Microsoft Word and had to do a large merge for a customer today for a mailshot.

The problem i had was that the amount of fields on the addresses ranged from 4 lines up to to 7 lines. On the addresses with only 4 lines, Word moved the text upwards so that the "Dear Customer" part of the letter was visible when the letter was folded and put into an envelope.

Does anyone know how to do a mail merge where the actual placing of the standard text remains static no matter how many fields in the address.

Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem a while back.

I made all the addresses the same amount of lines.

I chose 5.

You really only need the company name and the post code for it to get there.

Then use the other 3 lines for the rest of the address. (perhaps removing a line).

I'm sure that there is a proper way to solve your/our problem, but it worked for me.

Thanks for your reply shorty, i like your solution. Some nice person on another forum solved this for me.

Should any one be remotely interested, all you need to do is create a text box around the address fields and make it invisible before you print.

Clever eh.
