Exchange course to RCM
on: February 16, 2009, 11:58:44 AM
I am at the RNCM, on the way to completing my first year. But I am not happy in this place. The teaching is top standard, but I just feel the atmosphere isn't right. Not enough people take themselves seriously enough, and the standard is not as high, and don't feel the atmosphere is motivating enough. I know from what I've been told that RCM and RAM are very hard to get into, and most students start off at RNCM, then continue postgrad at RCM/RAM! I am doing my postgrad now, and really feel I need to be in London, as that is where I wanted to be in the first place, but didn't pass the auditions.

The problem is, I cannot complete a year where I am and get a diploma, as I originally intended to stay for two years, so I haven't enough repertoire prepared. I was thinking maybe the only way would be to treat transfering as an EXCHANGE course at RCM, there for I would not have to do my hour long recital at RNCM this year, but could do it in the second year at RCM. If I didn't get into RCM, I could stay and finish at RNCM for two years.

Would this be possible? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks
