need help with media player
on: February 21, 2009, 05:59:12 PM
I have a disc of my piano piece that got recorded last Summer, I realized this today, and my PC has a media player.  Do I insert the disc and download it and file the piece in my PC?  Also, I'd like to upload my piece to PS, but don't know where to send it to in which Board.  I'm a new member and appreciate the tip.  Thanks!      = )  go12_3

To extract mp3's from Cd's I use CdEx

https://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?groupname=cdexos&filename=cdex_151.exe&use_mirror=puzzle

hope this helps
I have my piece already downloaded, but when I got ready to post it here in the audition room,  a box blipped up indicating that the file cannot be found. So do I need to rename my file then to what you suggested to CdEx?  Thank you!

Is the file on MP3 format?

the allowed files are :  mp3, mid, pdf, gif, jpg, mpg (under "additional options" if you start a new topic in the auditon room). So if you have extracted an mp3 but it doesn't upload you need to add .mp3 as file extension I guess. But I don't really know what file type you have there right now :-\ for instance if you have extracted the CD with ITunes it doesn't work, because it's not mp3.

the file is mp3 and I can't upload due to not file being found in my PC, in which is does exist in my media player library.  I have looked up help topics to change the file name in order to upload here.  I am having a problem with the file name and trying to figure it out.  Thanks

okay, if you use Windows media player it saves copied files in a folder like C:\users\username\music (which you can change under "options") then there's no need to add an extension because they are already mp3's.
