Have you ever stress while you are learning pieces?
on: February 22, 2009, 11:11:44 AM
Hi all,

Sometimes I got stress when I was practice some pieces and can't play it well. Have you ever stress while you are learning pieces? And how to reduce the stress?

Thanks,
fenz
Hope someday I'll be a good pianist ^.^

Yes, definitely. You should stop and take a break if you're feeling *really* stressed or angry - I don't think that's a productive mindset in which to be practicing.

IMO - practicing relaxation, breathing etc is an important part of practicing (course, do as I say more than I do, LOL - but I try...)

Take a deep breath and walk away from the piano,  infact, if the piece itself is causing the stress, then try out another piece. Learning to play piano should be comfortable and enjoyable.  Of course, that can lead to another thread in the post regarding practicing----whether we overdo on the practicing.  Depends upon the pianist and what he/she can handle.....
