Interesting view of our responsibilities as musicians

This was a welcome address to incoming Freshmen at Boston Conservatory - thought it was worth sharing.

Truly inspiring words. The World War II pilot story was quite touching. Makes me wonder how to make the vast majority of the people realize that music is not just one more "hobby".

Unfortunately, the "hobby" aspect seems to be the view taken with regard to many of the educational budget cuts that eliminate music and art from curriculums. Thanks for your comments.
