Howard Richman - Super Sight Reading Secrets
on: March 02, 2009, 12:41:25 PM
I've been feeling very inadequate about my sight reading lately and after reading recomendations for Richman here I decided to buy it. Unfortunately when I looked for it all I could find were used copies selling for $100+. Does anyone know where I might pick up a copy at a reasonable price?

Have you tried PrimaMusic.com?  You might be able to find what you're looking for there, they also have a phone #  which is listed on their website, to contact a real person, instead of trying to find the book online, if you'd preferr that.  They are very helpful too.  Good luck!

If that's the book I'm thinking of, I saw it and wasn't impressed.

There's no way i would pay $100 or $50 or $20 for that book.

Keep asking around.  Or find it in the library maybe.

I don't think there are many big secrets.  The information might be on this board.  You could probably put your own stuff together with actual pieces of music.  The advantage would be if that book breaks things down like a method but I still wonder then.

I think that's the one Bernhard said was good.  I just didn't like what I saw looking through it, but I've never used it myself in any way.

I actually purchased this book less than a year ago at a Local Music store here in FL for $9.95!! That the price has been highjacked to $100+ is unbelievable. I just searched the internet and found an e-book version of this book at soundfeelings.com for $14.00. Pianoplace.com has the actual book for $10.95.

This book is great and really helped me out.  I'm still getting through it and its taking a long time but I am not skipping any steps.  I bought it offline but it was definatly not that much money.
