How come the spell check approves if I spell a contraction Isn't while Isn´t is wrong? The spell check of mozilla firefox also approves if I spell There´s but at the same time There's is also accepted. Are (or Is?) there different kinds of apostrophes?

I think ´ is an accent and ' is a real apostrophe. ´ is mainly used for accented vowels like ó, ú and so on.

` ` ` ~~~   The accent thing on that key?

Otherwise, how do you type a ' a different way?

You do not need a spell check when Hinty is around.

As far as I know ` and ´ are not used in English language and they're meant to go on vowels in, for example, Spanish or French.

Mine's an American keyboard.  What is ` for any way?  That's the other mark from the normal '

` ` ` ' ' '

There must be a point of having that standard on US keyboards.

But with Word, you type ctrl-' (or ctrl-") to get the accent mark put over a letter, the next letter/vowel you type.  But that's the key combo with the accent over it, not a plain accent by itself.

(Bob's brain begins to overheat as it spins endlessly about this great concern, and others... like what she meant by "If it wasn't for my horse, I never would have made it through college.")
