Two improvisations
on: March 15, 2009, 11:06:48 AM
... intended to be contrasting, one restless and the other tranquil, but with some shared motifs.

There are a few accidental references to other pieces of music; spotting them amused me when I played it back.

I didn't get the Spanish feel aspect of the first one while I was playing it, but on listening again I can see what you're getting at.

The sound quality should have been better - it was done with a decent recorder - but for some reason it has come out a bit flat. The whole thing was very much spur of the moment and I did it purely using the internal microphone of the recorder when it would of course have been preferable to find my external mike. (ps until I did this I had no idea at all that my piano stool creaks  :(!)
