Little Richard and Chuck Berry are practically the inventors of Rock n' Roll, they were huge influences on the Beatles as well as the Stones, although the Stones were more influenced by straight Bluesmen like Muddy Waters and Slim Harpo. Little Richard is not always taken seriously owing to his flamboyant (to put it mildly) personality, but his influence on so many musicians that followed him make him one of the key figures in Rock history, as well as the greatest Rock n' Roll pianist.

I voted for Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and Cream, in that order.

Not quibbling, but since when are Aretha Franklin and Jim Reeves bands? I believe they are solo artists.

LOL will anyone vote for Gary Puckett and the Union Gap?  :D ;D
