Serious pianist in serious need of unserious music!
on: March 18, 2009, 06:18:41 PM
Dear friends and colleagues!
I have a very urgent request/cry for help, and what better place to get help from than here...?! :)
I am playing a concert next Saturday (28 of March) together with three other pianists, and we are now being asked to play something for 1 piano 8 hands. Keywords: funny, joyful and possibly a bit silly (as it automatically gets with 4 pianists behind the keyboard.)
Something in the lines with these two examples:

With a few weeks more I would have tried to order them, but there isn´t enough time here.
Does anyone have one of these score, or possibly some other music/arrangment?
Pleeease!!!!  ::)
You can PM me if you don´t want to post.

NOTE TWO THINGS THOUGH:
Since we are all pianists I´m not interested in children´s pieces (like arrangments for 8-years-olds etc), and we also have absolutely zero possibility to use two pianos, so it has to be specifically 1 piano 8 hands!

Big thanks in advance!

Ozzy

If someone drops out or you get another piano, i can assist.

Lots of pieces for 1P6H & 2P8H, but none for 1P8H.

Sorry old chap.

I suppose you can do a few pieces for 2P8H on 1 piano, and it would be a comic act at the same time! Or, you could do a few pieces for 1P6H, and just have someone rotate out. 1P8H does seem rather cramped, so it is no wonder why there isn't much for that medium.

HAHA, a rotating 1P6H, what a good idea.

Should be great fun.

Yea, a really nice one, retrov! :) I imagine something like when you play tabletennis and are a couple of guys running round the table (although we´ll may slow down a bit on the running part), you know.
The Rachmaninoff 1p6h-piece pops into mind here...

Not related to the question but I listened to your to some of your recordings of Roman. I´m from Sweden as well so I think it´s great someone decides to record it. I found some minuet lately in "Farbror Martins: Små stycken av stora mästare" printed in 1940 or something.  :)
