Opinions on 3 Hardest piece of Sergei Rachmaninoff
on: April 01, 2009, 11:41:53 AM
Hi again , I love classical music and I love Rachmaninoff because he is a great composer. His songs are fantastic dynamic and play with aggressive movement. I quite confuse about his piece which is the hardest. I would like to ask Rachmaninoff's fans that which is 3 hardest pieces?

I think that Rachmaninoff Prelude Op. 23 No. 5 and some kinds of etude tableaux are the hardest. I'm not quite sure...

What do you think? Do you have any suggestions? (1 is the hardest)
Thanks for any ideas. :)

It's clearly not Op. 23 No. 5.
His concerti are very difficult though

1. Concerto no.3 in D-moll

2. Concerto no.2 in C-moll

3. Sonata for cello and piano in g-moll (both parts are very difficult)

1. Piano concerto no. 3
not sure about 2nd and 3rd, but im pretty definite the rhapsody on a theme by paganini is in there. on a purely technical comparison, no its not in the top 3, but the piece as a whole....its immense.

concerto no 3
paganini rhapsody
some op 39 etudes are quite tricky
and yes definetly cello sonata !
and !! he's grand trio... some says it to be harder than the no 3 concerto.
