Wich piece do you recommend?
on: April 14, 2009, 10:01:56 PM
Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forums!
I'm a Dutch pianist and I'm playing the piano for about 3 years now, filled with motivation. I mostly played anime/popular music, until 3 weeks ago.

I fel in love with classical piano music. Why I didn't heard the beauty before, I don't know, but now I'm in love with some of the classical music I've heard. I learned Scriabin's Prelude Op. 22 No. 1 and Chopin's Prelude Op. 28 No. 4. I'm now looking for something new, but it's hard for me to choose a piece, cause the classical 'world' is new to me. I'm looking for a, not that difficult, piano piece. I prefer sad/melancholic pieces, so... Wich piece do you recommend me to look into next? :)

Thanks in advance,

Tinus.

Welcome trianglesun.

anyway, maybe look at Scarlatti sonatas K.32 and K.11. and Napravnik melancholy in G-Minor op.48 no.3.

You can get the sheet music on IMSLP. org

What is a really beautiful piece, really emotional and romantic, is number 9 from Brahms 16 Waltzes Opus 39. You can get it free ( :)) here...
