Ive just rescently purchased an 88 key keyboard as my wife and I are both interested in learning.  I have taken bass lessons in the past and have rescently been trying to re-study the "complete idiots guide to music theory". Basically I made it through about half the book and Im starting it all over from the beggining to try and digest all the info. So I have some basic music theory knowledge such as what intervals are , how scales and modes are constructed as well as how chords are constructed, triads, 7th chords, a vague understanding of chord tensions and scale chord theory (very vague).

Anyway to get back on point, Im really interested in playing soul, r&b, funk and blues. I was wondering if anyone would know if the piano course "learn and master piano" was a step in the right direction. Id love to play songs and jams in the styles of stevie wonder, ray charles, steely dan, maybe even some of herbie hancocks simpler stuff. Who knows one day in the future I might even dare to think of playing some jazz fusion. I just wnated to see what some here thought of this course and what it might offer someone like myself, with what Id like to achieve.

Seems pretty expensive if it's this product you meanhttp://www.learnandmaster.com/piano/order-now/

Maybe try something cheaper like https://www.amazon.com/Funk-Keyboards-Complete-Method-Contemporary/dp/0793598702/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1241710212&sr=1-1

Haven't tried any of the products, just skeptical in general towards complete "schools"

Try asking on this site https://www.pianoworld.com/forum/ I think it's more oriented towards what you're looking for while this site mostly deals with classical piano.
