Apologies

I would like to personally apologize for my behavior on this forum, i think i was way out of line and personally quite rude, sometimes i can be rather arrogant and cynical.

Not that it's of any concern or interest to anyone but my sister has been diagnosed with cancer for 4 and half years now and recently things do not look to good for her health, it's putting me under a lot of stress as with my family, it's very saddening to think you might lose somebody who is a vital element in you're day to day existence

although i don't feel humiliated by my actions, i do think it's important to uphold moral ideals which are of benefit to others, thats what makes man superior if he is capable of such a vision,

In a forum of a variety of people it is hard to detect what circumstances a person is experiencing.  Ever since I joined PS, there are the unexpected that comes along and that is even in *real life* too.   You were venting your  thoughts here in your posts which got us confused and wondered about your behavior.  I have lost a loved one due to an illness(not cancer though) and she was very dear to my heart.  I am  sorry to hear about your sister.
My thoughts will be with you.  Take care.

Illumnist...It takes a lot of courage to stand up in front of the whole forum and admit things you have done wrong. We will all forgive you and other than the incedents, you have been very kind to us all.

personally i dont think it takes a lot of courage to do something like this on the internet where almost any significant aspect of your person that may be subject to humility is masked.

On the whole, it does however require some insight to realize w/e action you committed was wrong, so for that, i commend you.

But It does!!! Whether your admitting it in person or over the internet it takes courage...TO admit your mistakes.

That's just it though, admitting it over the internet is almost completely impersonal. This is happening in many areas of life now; people are being hired and dumped/asked out by email or text because it's easier to do, requires no true emptional input. I don't care whether he's sorry or not though because it wasn't that big a deal anyway.

     I am wondering , just how is anyone going to express their feelings *over the Internet* if it weren't for the words we type daily here.   It is the same as a written *letter*  a few decades ago.  Now, the technology has made it so that a connection is done quickly and still the written word has an impact upon those people or person , if they *chose* to have an *emotional input* or not...

Expressing "emotions" as you call them, over the internet, chat, email, etc. its for those who are afraid of expressing them personally, and feeling vulnerable in doing so. Which is really the point actually, thats why those that do it, have the balls to.

I can make up some emotion right now in this post, it doesnt take any courage to do so, because you cant see me, you dont know me, and there is no consequence for your being of aware of those emotions, it will in no way have an affect on me.

Being *personal* or *impersonal*  can have an effect upon one's posting here.....it all depends upon the words we use in whether being *emotional* or *non-emotional*  or being *reactive* to a comment or remark.    And of course, there can be a  whole new topic on whether or not in getting to *know* someone over the Internet.

Anyway, emotions can be expressed over internet....It's just hard to detect if they're true or not. It depends on the person..

By the way,  illum is in New Zealand with his family and settling in, and with the circumstances  of his sister, I think he has a lot to deal with now.  Probably he may return though.

I do not know if she died.  Only that she has cancer.....I do not know anything more.
