Do you like this kind of music?

Except classical music I enjoy other genres as well. But I have found that I especially have a fondness for certain kinds of metal bands. They often utilize the same kind of harmonics and melodies that can be found in classical music, except that they do not branch out into different keys, but stay in the same key throughout the song.
For some reason I really like traditional melodicness mixed with heavy "screamed" vocals, it creates an interesting atmosphere that I find highly enjoyable.

Here is some stuff I like to listen to:

I really like the mix of (in places) very melodic guitar playing with that totally ugly sounding vocalist, it creates a really interesting atmosphere

lol all that headbanging looks ridicolous but the song is cool

You might want to check with punkpianist360, as he listens to metal as well as punk.

I had my heavy metal times too, but felt more hardcore and quickly gravitated to emo before I studied classical. I don't mind metal music, but I don't love it either.

i digs the loud music.  suggest you try out killswitch engage and mudvayne as well.

of course, if you're looking for music with classical influences, give muse a whirl.  can't get enough of them.  but they're not nearly as loud.

for more complex or unexpected progressions and rhythms, try either tool or mars volta.

and of course, if prog is your thing, king crimson.  but I never got into prog as much.
