Schumann Romanzen op28/2
on: May 28, 2009, 06:28:43 AM
A  beautiful short piece. I came across this piece again after many years of not playing it. I noticed that the melodic inner voice is picked out with the thumbs. Doesn't it emulate a couple in love following each other? How the thumbs move together and so close to one another. It's a beautiful romantic gesture! In Bar 2 I like to use (11) instead of the (12) they suggest because I don't want to interupt the sweet couple :) ahaha

It really is a gem of a piece, and it indeed evokes the intimacy of a romantic relationship. Beautiful.
