Wandering - Improv

[chopinatic]

So its a really hot day, and i found myself just wandering around the garden with my hands in my pockets and hair blowing with the gentle breeze. I was thinking about alot of different things, Life, love, etc, so i sat at the piano in that same mood and started to play.

Here is what i came up with:

Wandering and wondering come together. The first chords feel like you're tired from a long walk. Then thoughts start to flow, remembrances appear. The past...it gets more intense...but ...let it go...
at 2:49 starts a groovy rhythm...but the past and the tiredness win... for now ... only for now.

Again, Chopin, this improv I needed to listen to tonight.  I had a busy and disappointing day, and when I listened, I started to cry because the music reflected those emotions I felt within me, all bottled up inside......

that was a really nice message, you were feeling what i was when i played it. No better way to let those emotions out that playing or listening.

Lovely playing. I like what was called the "groovy" section as well, it was a nice contrast to the first few minutes of the piece. I wanted it to go on a little longer!

Funny coincidence, I did an improv the other day with the same title! They sound a little similar, in the more big-picture way to me.

They do have the same feel, i guess it shows just how similar we all are, how we all have the same emotions and the feelings.

Again this improv is my favorite and I just listened to it....even as time has gone by,  music will always touch my heart in the same way as before.

This is my style of improvisation, and  I loved it; the chord progressions, the development, it was definitely something else!

What do you use to record?  I really want to record some of my improvisations, but all I have right now is my webcam which tends to skip, pause, or mess up the audio.

It would be a great delight if I could translate the mood of a pleasant day's walk into such a nice expression as yours. I enjoyed it. Never let the desire to improvise obstruct this wonderful "spontaneous generation"!

I acually record using my digital piano a Yamaha clavinova clp 240 i think. And then i have a sound module (Lexicon Alpha) which i plug up to the piano and then the lexicon also going into my laptop where i use cubase to record. Then it saves as a wav file onto my laptop and i use itunes to convert it to mp3........

Lexicon alphas i think are great, there very affordable at about £50- 100

Im a known hummer! i love to hum a tune when im walking or think of one in my head, and i capture it. sometimes record it.
