My Repertoire!
on: June 10, 2009, 03:27:55 AM
Hi! I just wanted to share my repertoire with everyone! I had taken a 10 year break from piano (stopping when I was 11) and when I realized I could afford lessons again with my old piano teacher, I got back in with her!
We are working on Haydn's Sonata in A Major, Chopin's Nocturne in E-flat Major, and Bach's Invention No. 13. Starting out slow so that I can get back into it. We've finished working on Bach's Invention No. 4 (D minor).
I'm now working on memorizing the Sonata, and I just started the Nocturne. The Invention (13) is something I learned on my own when I was 15 BUT, I've been playing it for 6 years incorrectly. I'm having trouble with emphasizing on the theme in the left hand and keeping my right hand soft when the theme is being playing in the left hand! I'm having to retrain my hands I suppose.
Anyways I just wanted to share! Any tips are always welcome!

Hi tickingcounter,
You can browse in Performance board and find a lot of tips there about practicing and techniques to help you get started. Good luck in learning your pieces, too.
best wishes,
