How long do you practice for each day. I do 13 and a half hours a week.

Does this really matter? How come no one does a "How many things you achieve at the piano everyday?" thread instead of how much time you spend at it?

As iroveashe says, how much can you accomplish would be better. As an answer, I practice 3-4 hours a day. I spend 30-40 min on technique (as instructed by my professor, I know people disagree on technical practice), and then I practice in 15-20 minute sessions throughout the day. I'm working on nine pieces a day, and I try to learn four bars up to speed each day on each piece. Sometimes it's less, sometimes it's more.

I think there is a thread about *What Is Esstential in Practicing*  in which has some great posts about quantity and quality of practicing.   This thread is merely taking a poll of the hours a day of practicing.   This is a more general topic on this thread.

best wishes,

When I practice, I try to achieve something every five minutes and write them down in an achievement book! I thought that it would be an easier question to answer if you just said how musch you did rather than how much you achieve!

It is not important how much you practice, but rather how efficiant.

Again, people with the excessive hours that aren't truly practice hours.

Efficiency is more important than how long you practice at the piano.  If you really feel it necessary to practice that long, you need to re-examine your practice methods.

I dont think it matters how long you practice each day. Some people practice more than others, it does not mean that they are more talented ::)

It sounds terrible in writing, but I practice about an hour every day.
More during the summer because I don't have school/sports/work, but not by much...it's enough for me...? It really depends where you're trying to go with piano. I just do it for fun and competitions (:
Looking for a Baroque piece. Suggest one?
I've been looking at:
