New Baby (Fab) and Pratice
on: July 16, 2009, 11:00:02 AM
I am now the proud father of a new little girl, which raises some wonderful new challenges and one of them is how to integrate our new family member with current practice routines.
I am in the habit of practicing from 05:00 to 07:30 every morning. The nurses tell us to stick to this routine from day one and our little girl will very quickly adapt, rather them skipping them for the first few weeks in the hope of more baby sleep, and them have problems adapting later on.
But I would like to hear from anybody who has been in the same situation and has actual experience ? What do you think ? recommend ?
regards

Good luck with getting any sleep for awhile. If your baby is anything like my twin daughters, you may not get much, (sleep that is
).
My girls were 'preemies' and consequently spent some time in the hospital. The routine there was that they slept during the day and were up most of the night. No problem if you're a nurse on shift, but it wrecked havoc once home on the sleep routine.
So, practicing at five in the morning may not be a problem. Maybe you'll start a new routine pratice time of 1 to 3:30 AM!

PS- My girls are almost 22 years old now and I still lose sleep over them.
Good luck!
