I'd just as soon drop the topic.

Here's one recollection from the memoirs of Godowsky's daughter Dagmar:
"Father had had a barber named Caruso, who worshipped Einstein, and when he discovered that Pa and he were close friends, he begged to meet him. Pa told Einstein, who promised him that someday he would visit the man. But absent-minded as he was - he never got around to it. Every so often when Father was getting a haircut, Caruso would ask, 'Is Einstein ever really going to keep his promise?' And Popsy would say, 'Don't worry, some day he will come!' When news of Pa's death reached Einstein at Princeton, he didn't say a word. He picked up his hat and muffler and caught the first train to New York. He went to visit Pa's barber. This is eloquence."

My old piano teacher met Rzewski and Messiaen I think.  I've sent a couple of emails to living composers.  George Flynn lives nearby.  I'm not really connected to anyone  :-\

Do you have any interesting stories about Einstein?
I've had a nice email relationship with George Flynn for a few years, though we've never met.

As I related in my 1st post, I spent the 1st year of my life next door to Einstein, so I have no first-hand stories about him, but there are numerous books and documentaries about him and his rather robust desire to meet famous people, particularly in Hollywood. Despite the public appearance he presents in most of the short film segments and photos he's in, he was a bit of a scoundrel, particularly when it came to women.

Nonetheless, he long ago became my personal hero and seeded my love of astro/quantum-physics (and many other sciences).

As an adult I took a friend to Princeton looking for, among other things, Einsteins grave, only to discover he was cremated and his ashes thrown to the wind.
