Help me find Argerich's teacher's book?
on: July 26, 2009, 04:39:32 AM
Martha Argerich studied with Vincenzo Scaramuzza. His teachings are in large part responsible for her wonderful technique. His ideas were published in a 1927 book under the title "Enseñanzas de un gran maestro". Does anyone know where I can find this? Help me look. If we can find it, we will all be as good as Argerich. I promise.

A friend of my family studied with Scaramuzza, she mentions him all the time and she was Argerich's childhood friend. I'll try to contact her and ask her.

She's currently in USA, and she's supposed to come back to Argentina in September. I'll e-mail her next week to see if she's busy; if she is I guess we'll have to wait until then

Hello!
I'm from Argentina an I'm a new member of this very interesting forum.
This Book was written by María Rosa Oubiña, a piano teacher who studied already 20 years with Scaramuzza and who continued with a very special and effective way of teaching. She wrote another books, edited a DVD, and she's actually writing a new book with the indications of Scaramuzza to some of his pupils. You can visit for more information:
