print single page from multi-page pdf?
on: July 29, 2009, 01:51:21 AM
If I have a pdf file with many pages, can I just print one of those pages or do I have to print the whole thing?

I'm looking, wondering if anyone else has done this.  Maybe it really is that simple.

Yes.

i thought so.  But you need to watch to make sure you use the page numbers of the pdf viewer, not the scanned document page numbering.  Duh.

Not to be rude, but why do you open up all of these new topics here with questions that could either be answered with a quick google search or something equivalent?

What's wrong with asking here? Keeps the forums active and means anyone else with the same problem can see the solution while Bob gets help.

These aren't things that could generate a lot of discussion, but rather very simple questions that could literally be answered in seconds. I don't think they warrant the starting of another topic.

Apparently Bob thinks differently, no one else seems to mind anyway. Just drop it.

Well, it's just a simple question which I would like answered. I'm not offending anyone by asking it, so I don't see why I should drop it.

I personally think "anything but piano" could be used for these things.  For example, I still don't know how to transfer a video from youtube to pianostreet.  Is there anyone here I can send a message to (so I won't take up precious space in these threads!) to discuss the procedure?

When you create a thread; there's a button below all the fonts and stuff with the 'youtube' symbol.  Click that, and it'll create two boxes; find the video you want, and simply copy and paste the URL inside the youtube boxes in the thread you create.

[ youtube] https: // www. etc. etc. com [ youtube]  (without all the spaces in between, gives me the following:)

ps. sorry for changing the topic, but the youtube thing is something that can be answered in one post without 'hogging all the thread space'  ;)
Interested in discussing:

-Prokofiev Toccata
-Scriabin Sonata 2

Why don't you google it to find and answer?  ;D

You don't have to be an ass about it. It was just a simple question to Bob, much like the simple question he asked in the original post.

I made the topic, then realized I could print a pdf file instead of printing to paper as a way of testing it.  Originally I thought I might have to find a short but multi-page pdf to actualy try printing individual pages with hardcopy paper.

And I know I can check here again.  Kind of using PS to store some info, although this isnt' hard to forget.  Someone else might find it useful.

It's not just that I could print single pdfs -- I could split up a large pdf document into smaller ones, using print-to-pdf.  That's another aspect I found by accident.

Which leads to another question -- Is there any way to take multiple short pdfs and print them all up at once in one print job?  (ie print them all with a pdf converter into one pdf file?)   Or take individual and varied pages from several different pdfs and join them together with a print-to-pdf command?

You could go into explorer, highlight all files you wish to print, right click, select print.

It's still printing out as separate files, not merging them together.  If it did though, that might useful.  I know there are pdf programs that merge and separate.  I was thinking this could do the same.  I got split out invidiual pages from a pdf now at least.

So what you really want to do is stitch several pages of pdf's into one pdf file?
