Is there an efficient way to search youtube?
on: July 31, 2009, 02:37:58 AM
I look on there, sometimes wander, and then I'll notice another video that I missed from the first search.  Except I'm pretty sure it wasn't there in the first search, or not as close to the top, but just as relevant in my mind.  It should have been there.

Are there any tricks to searching youtube?  How do I know I'm getting everything if I'm looking for performances of a certain piece of music?  I vary the words, but I still don't think I'm getting all the relevant hits in my search list.

Strange.

I make usual searches of either videos of tornadoes and storm chases, or dunks (basketball), two non musical (guilty) pleasures which oddly give me a nice dose of (guilty) pleasure. Particularly, when I like searching for the latest storm videos, which can be annoying and hard because they have features for "uploaded this week" or "uploaded this month" but nothing in chronological order, and I have yet to figure out the criteria for order. Now if you're with a specific uploader, their uploads are listed chronologically from the most recent, which I like.

This does nothing to answer your question, but I do sympathise.

Well at least it's not just me.  You really have to keep track of what you found and what might be new or in some odd location.
