I just got voom

You know...VOOM satellite TV service with about 35 HDTV channels.  Holy crap it is awesome.  They are doing a free install deal right now.  Anyway, if you were thinking about getting it, do it.  Nothing like regular TV shows in HDTV and 5.1.  Looks and sounds great!

And no, of course I don't work for them...I'm a pianist!

Sounds interesting, but I'd have no use for HDTV channels -- I don't have an HDTV!

Anyway, we were recently forced to switch to "digital" cable by our cable service provider.  The quality is slightly better, but the service is somewhat unreliable, and the cable box "crashes" sometimes.  I suspect that the real reason they're so adamant on customers switching to digital is because everyone with analog cable has a descrambler box these days, and they lose a lot of money off of those.

It's funny.  Now we have a couple hundred more channels than before, but the amount of GOOD channels seems to have stayed the same.

I made the upgrade to digital pretty recently, and only found out afterwards if I wanted any more channels I would have to pay extra for them.... so basically I paid for a box to sit under my television.

Hey Robert, what kind of an HDTV do you have?
