Debate between me and a friend...
on: August 03, 2009, 08:28:06 AM
Sorry for using this forum to settle a debate.
Which piece do you think is harder ( i know there are lots of differnet aspects of "hard", but on average)
1. Rachmaninoff Concerto #2 Mvmt 1
2. Prokofiev Piano Sonata 4 Mvmt 3

BY FAR the Rachmaninoff. I've never played the Prokofiev but I've done plenty of examination and the Rachmaninoff is much harder (not that it matters, what really matters is the musical quality, which the Rachmaninoff wins in as well lol).

Just to undoubtedly drag this on to it's infinte conclusion, I'm going to say the Prokofiev.
I've played the Rach is actually quite manageable. I haven't played the Prokofiev but it looks fiendish. So of course I'm completely qualified to give you a definitive answer (like most people here)!

Never look at the trombones. You'll only encourage them.
