How Many Hours Should You Practice the Piano? – The Lines Between Science, Method and Passion

It is a timeless question, a persistent voice in the mind of every pianist: “How many hours must I practice to truly improve?” It springs from a perfectly legitimate desire to measure the commitment required to transform our ambitions into sound, whether that means playing a simple minuet or dreaming of the world’s most prestigious stages. Honestly, why do people care so much about who's technique is the fastest. It's sort of counter productive  because that is not what music is about.

Richard Kastle

That's almost not even funny... I so hope that guy dies a painful, painful death for slandering the good reputation of the other pianists who he claims cheated, because they earned out reputation through their music - Richard Kastle still has to prove he can play more than 3 frickin' pieces that aren't his own monstrous, inaudible creations.

Me. It's true I can't play remarkably _fast_ octaves but they sound beautiful!
