The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

Easy Piano Chamber music
on: August 05, 2009, 04:16:24 AM
I have piano students at about the level of the Clementi Sonatas, but would like to integrate them into a chamber ensemble at school.  Any suggestions for simple piano parts for classical chamber pieces?  Any really easy piano concertos?  Thanks!

I know nothing of chamber works, but there are some rather nice early piano concerti suitable for the young pianist. I just need to be at my home computer to let you know what they are.

There was a rather nice series that used to be published by OUP, called "Works for the Amatuer Orchestra" or something like that. I will see what i can dig out.

Tonight i will be scanning a work by Mozart that has been turned into a small concerto that could also be appropriate.

Here you are, I found one that I whizzed through me old scanner a few months ago.

Charming little piece that i actually play myself.

If i can do it, anyone can.

Thank you very much Thal!  I have also found possibly the "Youth Concerto" by Kabalevsky... which, if anyone has, would be a great resource here on piano street.

I have that Kabalevsky concerto, but it cannot be posted for it is not in public domain, for Kabalevsky died quite recently.

If they are looking for a challenge maybe they can play the Mendelssohn violin sonata. If you think they can handle some tremolos and repeated chords (at a slow speed) then look at Henryk Wieniawski's adagio elegiaque for piano and violin.
