Rolex piano
on: August 29, 2009, 01:10:55 PM
Does anyone know anything about Rolex pianos? I have a photo of one here:
https://mumbai.vivastreet.co.in/buy-sell-secondhand-instrument+mumbai/japanese-toyo-upright-piano---12-yrs--old-in-fabulous-condn/17365136/p#1
The owner claims its Japanese, made by Toyo. I did some research on the web, and the only reference i found to it was that it was a Japanase brand made not by Toyo, but by Taisei, about whom there seems to be very little info either.
https://www.pianoclub.gr.jp/other%20Japanese%20pianos.html
On the inside of the piano there is a serial number #80998 and a reference number KR 22
Before I go to try it (the most important thing of course), does anyone have any knowledge of this brand? Decent second hand pianos are very rare in india, and new ones cost much more than elsewhere due to government duty - most of the pianos around are relics from british times...
