Good (Free) Program to Convert .ram to .mp3
on: September 01, 2009, 08:30:08 AM
I would like to know if there are any good programs out there that will convert any sort of Real Audio streaming files, like .ram, to .mp3 files. I am also looking for something that will convert other sorts of streaming files, such as .asx and others, but I need something for Real Audio at the moment. I want something that is free, preferably. I know of ones you can buy, but I don't want to buy something I'll use for one file and nothing more. Thanks.

I guess you have probably already looked, but i downloaded an excellent free file converter from Download.com.

Cannot remember the name at the moment, but it converts just about anything to anything.

I have found many "free" programs, but they just end up being trial versions that only let you convert half of a file. I want something completely free. If you're curious, I want to use it to convert the streaming files from the BBC Proms website, so I can have them long after the 7 day period.

You could try converting a .ram file with the program i mentioned above, wich is downloadable on the site downloads.com
And else you could ofcourse google a program that DOES handle that type of file, and somehow use the dirty word 'torrent'. 'somehow'

I tried that program and it doesn't support .ram files. I need something that converts streaming files.
