Exchange or Repair
on: September 01, 2009, 10:04:03 PM
Hello everybody,
I'm new to this forum as well as piano.
I would like some opinions in regards to my situation.
Three weeks ago I purchased a Casio AP-500 Digital Piano.  I am satisfied with the sound and I love the feel.
A few days ago, a crackling static sound starting coming from the speakers.  At first I thought it was a loose speaker connection, but the same sounds were present while using the head-set.  The sound is intermittent.  It happens regardless of volume level.
Should I exchange it for a new one or should I have it repaired?
What would you do?

Thanks in advance for your advise,
Richard

Exchange it for new while it's under warranty.  Let them deal with it.

It's tough with electronics.

You might want to get a good surge protector and unplug the whole thing when you're not using it.  Prevent things from getting fried.

If you bought a new one, i'd go back to the dealer where you got it from and try getting a new one :)

It was actually plugged in to a very expensive surge protector.
I will try to return the piano today.
Thanks.

Poems of Ecstasy – Scriabin’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

The great early 20th-century composer Alexander Scriabin left us 74 published opuses, and several unpublished manuscripts, mainly from his teenage years – when he would never go to bed without first putting a copy of Chopin’s music under his pillow. All of these scores (220 pieces in total) can now be found on Piano Street’s Scriabin page. Read more
