I am a pianist, age 29, who has completed a year at RNCM in Manchester. I transfered to MMus from PG dip for the second year, so I have no qualification (apart from a BA honours degree from Uni!) but I at present have no funds, so I will have to have a year out (an 'interruption').
The trouble is, it is very tempting to not go back and get private tuition. I think there is a very good chance of getting funding within the next year (without asking for yet another career development loan!!). I have been told of how significantly having the Mmus degree will improve my chances of securing teaching work whilst trying for a career. But I really feel I should not stay where I am for a whole year, building up money, contacts, repertoire, technique, making cds, and then have to put a lot of things on hold through a time consuming course, and at 29, you do get a bit anxious!
If there is anybody else going through this, or anyone who can give me advice, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
