While I am one of the major contributors on Piano World, I am a newbie here. So, if this post isn't welcome, I apologize.

If you haven't heard already, Larry Fine has come out with a new 270+ book that replaces his Annual Supplements to The Piano Book.  It is entitled Acoustic & Digital Piano Buyer, (Piano Buyer, for short)and it is available FREE on the internet at https://www.pianobuyer.com. I work closely with Larry on all aspects of the publication  and I am both a contributing editor and his advertising director.

Included on the website is a searchable database, also free, that contains virually every piano model on the market. A print edition is also availble on the website, through Amazon.com or in local bookstores. A detailed section on digital pianos has also been added. The Piano Buyer is a semi-annual publication that allows us to keep current with the many changes occuring in both acoustic and digital pianos.

The Piano Buyer is very different from The Piano Book in its purpose, look and in the fact that it is supported by advertising.  Please read the opening "Publisher's Message" on page 1 for details.

If you have any comments or questions, you can email me at steve@pianobuyer.com.

Again, if any part of this post is inappropriate, you have my apology.

Steve Cohen

I think they don't allow advertising on here, but I for one am not offended in this case.  I'm glad to know of this new book.  Thanks for the news.

The don't cover older models ... only the ones currently being sold.  That's probably true for the other brands, too.

Yes, the book is limited to listing specs for new digitals only. To list all makes and models and include older models would be an enormous task. We wouldn't be able to provide the book free online.

Overall we felt that keeping it free was the best way to go.
