I have a new Idea (outside the box)?
on: September 25, 2009, 09:25:30 AM
REALITY: says that I cannot be a composer because if I did , I will be earning 3 rice bowls a week.
But I was able to think of a new way for me to be a composer.
no matter how weird it is. (It is related to music).

My true experience:   My mother had a friend who is the wife of a REAL ESTATE BROKER.
One night, WE were invited to their party.
At first, we saw his very beautiful mansion. It was huge and beautiful.
I was so amazed that How I wish I could be a real estate broker when I grew up.

My mother told me a story of the real estate broker.
He earns about average $1 million per month (value converted to U.S. dollars).
And all he did was relax, because REAL ESTATE JOB is just selling and rest.
I have taught of it as a really boring boring life.

But suddenly, An Idea came into my mind.
It seems that I wish I was a real estate broker one day and have a very very boring life.

WAIT...........

Since I have a lot of free time.
1.) I can be a composer if I engage in real estate.  *lots of free time
2.) I can hire a band and copyright my compositions.  *copyrighting is expensive
3.) I can have my own financial security.
4.) I can have a relaxation and stress-free life since I can have vacation anytime.
5.) I can buy electronic music equipments that did not exist in a poor countries like the Philippines.
6.) I can buy as many Mp3's to expose myself to music and to add aural nourishment.
7.) I can cover the expenses of Copyrighting, making a band, production, performance.
8.) I will not to succumb in any financial problems.
9.) I can have an hobby and my real estate life will not be boring.
10.) I can improve my piano playing abilities.

And the best Idea I ever taught is that,
I can compose WHATEVER I WANT whenever I want , wherever I want
           *
I wish I can compose a symphony or even go experimental.
Even 21st century etudes and compositions that others do not want others to hear.
(I do not care if nobody wants to listen).

I do not need to worry about deadlines.

I can enter conservatories without worries.
(nobody listens to experimental music and therefore no cash).

I am so happy that I was able to think of that REAL-ESTATE BUSINESS IDEA.

Here are the Questions?

1.) Does Atonal music and experimental music ever earn?
2.) Do you think real-estate is a good stepping stone to composition? How good is it?
3.) How to be a millionaire almost have no effort aside from real-estate?
(instant millionaire)
4.) How to start a real-estate business?
5.) How to start a career in composition ($ 1 million dollars maximum). ?

Well, for a start real-estate brokers in the UK are going out of business at the moment, and it could happen anywhere at any time.

But more seriously, you'll never succeed in any kind of business unless you put some work in and have a genuine interest and talent in it. If you get into real estate as a hobby but your mind is really on music, your business is likely to crash and burn fast.

I'm sure it can be done, earning from outside music and composing in freedom, but just don't go thinking that this or that business is a free meal ticket 'cos life's not like that.

It is obvious that everyone knows the answer to that, but no one wants to be a millionaire with almost no effort. ::)

Consider that all but a handfull of composers throughout history ever made a living composing without a head start. Most were supported by family, friends, or patrons and I would guess most came from families well off enough to at least keep them fed till they started to sell. It isn't at all a bad idea to have a career and make a good living doing something else, and compose in your free time. Your motivation to compose shouldn't be financial, it should be because you feel you have something to say with music.

As far as being a millionaire in real estate, don't think it is easy. You don't just automaticly make money. There are some really smart people that both have luck and good sense as to knowing what to buy that will be worth more in the future. Also, most started out with a considerable stake to begin with. You can't just walk in to a bank and say I want to borrow money for this property without some credentials and collateral. If you feel you have aknack for it, then give real estate a shot, but no one is going to hand you millions of dollars.

So go to school, learn what you need to learn and work hard, and if you really like composing then there is nothing to keep you from doing that in your off time.

Actually most earned their living as performers. It's only in the last hundred years that there has been a substantial number unable to do that. (Yes, I know about Berlioz and Verdi but they were remarkable exceptions. Even Wagner was a pretty decent conductor, by all accounts.)

Instant millionaire is easy.  Tell your parents to get off their butts and start making more money.  You can inherit it. :)

Or win the lottery, yes.

Or marry someone who's wealthy.

I was going to suggest part-time.  Ives was an insurance broker or something like that.  A clerk?

Starting a business sounds like a lot work.  No time for anything else.

I would also think any profession is going to eat up time.  There's always something else to do outside of work, something expected, in order for you to stay profesisonal.

The composers I've met have been college faculty, community college adjuncts, or are earning a living through something else, like teaching, or bookkeeping just to pay bills.

You know, before Beethoven was published he sold apartments in Venezuela; very reasonable career-move!

That is not the case.

In the PHilippines, 99% of the bands that exists in my country only uses drums and guitar.
The music industry of the Philippines is very weak.
Singers in the Philippines revive old songs (90% of the time).

I wish I could use strings(violin etc....) for my instrument.
I could'nt take it anymore.
THe sounds and musical ideas that comes into my head are complicated good melodies.
There is no doubt that I have been influenced by KAJIURA YUKI.

I intend to present a free presentation to anyone to be lured into my music.

Being a composer is financially expensive in our country.

Instruments............                         $20,000~50,000. (includes stringed instruments).
Infrastructure for studio..................   $58,000~169,000. (with soundproof walls)
Salary of my performers..................   $34,000~49,000. (per month).
Electronic equipments.....................   $23,000~67,500. (includes MIDI and sound generators).
Payment for the performance...........   $1,000~3,000. (per venue).

Miscellaneous*................ $1,500~2,000 (per month).
*includes copyrighting, publishing and buying Mp3's to nouridh musical creativity.

OPTIONAL:
          Study Japanese..................    $20,000~$35,000.
          Study at a conservatory** ........  $300,000~$500,000. (including needs,shelter etc. ).
** 4 year course in composition

I have been crunching numbers for over a month.

BTW, the jackpot for the lottery is from $1 million to $15 million in our country.

I have told you that composition is really a hard life. I had compare it to the life of a garbage dump collector.
If only composition is easy.  I could have sent you a video via Youtube.

Making a Youtube is harder than you think.
I have promised to send you Youtube video's but I have never sent even one.
But my abilities are 100% Genuine.

To be honest, I am not much of a computer literate.

BTW, Estimated inheritance is $80,000~$100,000

Here are the Questions:

1.) Can I take lottery outside the country and win the prize legally?
             ( Italian lottery=$300 million).
2.) What must I do?
3.) Can I do anything about the situation of my country?

I'll be one of your performers.  I think I could could even squeak by on the lower $34,000 per month.  If I have to.  If you wanted to pay me more, I would have a little more wiggle room for living life that way and would appreciate that of course.

I believe I'll be in a new tax bracket.

I should savor this moment.  Remember what it's like to be poor and among the common folk.

(instant millionaire)

Learn BUSINESS and INVESTING. Build your own corporation and/or be an investor. Maybe not music-related because I heard Yamaha is down (ssshhh don't tell anyone I said that). Read the book Rich Dad Poor Dad and it includes a list of other books to read. The author was broke once but grew to be a millionaire and retired early.

From my experience, people who work in a situation where they are free and able to do anything they want usually do NOT produce anything interesting. It is when the human stuggles, suffers, bleeds and sweats for their work that great things are produced. So I don't see how financial security would make the musical journey any easier or better.

I'm doubting there are any well-paying jobs/careers out there that are easy.  If there were, lots of people would be doing it.

And if anyone wants to get better by relieving themselves of their financial burden (i.e. by giving me some of their money), I could probably force myself to accept some.  It's for your art.  How can I say no to that?

Women and the Chopin Competition: Breaking Barriers in Classical Music

The piano, a sleek monument of polished wood and ivory keys, holds a curious, often paradoxical, position in music history, especially for women. While offering a crucial outlet for female expression in societies where opportunities were often limited, it also became a stage for complex gender dynamics, sometimes subtle, sometimes stark. From drawing-room whispers in the 19th century to the thunderous applause of today’s concert halls, the story of women and the piano is a narrative woven with threads of remarkable progress and stubbornly persistent challenges.
