[VIDEO] Villa-Lobos - Alma Brasileira
on: October 06, 2009, 05:32:34 PM
Hey, this is me playing on a  national piano competition last week. The Choros (it means lament in portuguese) are some of Villa-Lobos' most important works, there are 15 Choros, number 5 is the only written for piano solo. This piece is also known as Alma Brasileira, what means "Brazilian Soul", and it's a mixture of rhytms and themes from our culture. I started learning 8 months ago. I apreciate critics, as there are much I can improve on this amazing piece.

Bella, you played this piece with control and mastery of the keyboard.   I don't know
this piece so I am not in the position to critique you at all.   Congratulations
upon your placement in the competition.  That is an accomplishment indeed, and many
best wishes for a successful future!

best wishes,

Hi bella,

Very thoughtful and beautiful playing.  You play with much expression and finesse in this music, and I enjoyed listening to your performance.
