Wrist pain
on: October 17, 2009, 05:53:39 PM
I have recently begun teaching myself how to play piano, starting with Moonlight Sonata, recommended by my roommate because it is slow and simple. I'm not having trouble playing the piece, but I have noticed that I've been getting pain in the underside of both my wrists. I was wondering what I should be doing differently to prevent this pain from happening?

Wrist pain, most likely comes from strain because you're sitting wrong, too low, holding your hands wrong, applying too much strength, basically almost anything can be the cause, but you need someone to show you how to do it properly. I think you need a teacher, because on the long run it may seriously hurt/damage your wrists.

Good luck though, i'm not expert either so i can't give you more ellaborate advice.
