grade 6 ABRSM
on: November 06, 2009, 05:05:55 AM
hi
I am considering to sit for the grade 6 ABRSM exam. In order to practice successfully I need to have a daily practice schedule. Can someone advice me for how many hours a day should I practice. I also need to know how this time should be divided for pieces, scales and sight reading.
thanks

22 views (at this time) and not one response...why is that?
By the time you reach grade 6, these are decisions that you should be able to make on your own. These are probably decisions you should have been making on your own, or possibly with the help of your teacher since grade 1. No one can tell you how long it will take you to learn a piece, how to organise your time to carry out practice. Basically, you've gotten no response because you've asked non-questions.
To give some help...I'm around grade 6, and my aim is to practice 2 hours a day (with my job though that's becoming difficult). I think most grade 6 students would be practising at least 2 hours a day. Beyond that, I can't help you because only you would know your weaknesses and what you need to spend more/less time on.
Ask more specific questions, perhaps pertaining to the pieces you'd like to learn, or some other more specific technical issue and you might get a bit more help from the good folks around here.
