Help! I need to silence my piano!
on: November 15, 2009, 03:19:10 AM
I have an acoutic piano in my house. The problem is it's in the middle of the house, and everyone else can hear it. So, I can only play an hour a day :'(

Could someone tell me a good way to silence a piano? (I'm not aloud to put wood boards on the bottom)

Thanks!

Get a digital piano, and use that for the rest of the day.

Move your accoustic to a place where it doesn't bother people so much.

Come up with an agreement with the people in your house: you have divided time to use the room.  Eg: 4 people live in a house, there are 24 hours in a day, In each day you are entitled to 28 hours of piano time  ;D reasonable me thinks.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

A couple heavy blankets and some strategically placed pillows?

Take a chainsaw or an axe and start chopping. That might silence him!

Digital piano and headphones. Add a keyboard amp and you can start playing gigs at your church or local pub.
